Barcelona, Spain (October 27, 2021) — Coarobo GK was honored to be invited by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Kyoto to showcase its contributions to robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) at the 2021 Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC 2021) . The event, held hybrid this year, featured a special report published by SmartCitiesWorld titled "The Kyoto Start-Ups Shaping Smart and Sustainable Cities" , which highlighted Coarobo GK's work in service robotics and AI research consulting.

The report detailed Coarobo GK's journey, from the early success of its founders at the Airbus Shopfloor Challenge 2016 to its continued impact with containerized Software Development Environments (SDEs) that accelerate the deployment of robotics solutions. These SDEs have been instrumental in advancing projects across various sectors, including retail service robots and manufacturing automation. "Our mission is to empower researchers and developers with tools that simplify the path from concept to applications," said Lotfi El Hafi, President & Founder of Coarobo GK.

Coarobo GK's solutions have garnered international recognition, with its founders achieving notable success at esteemed robotics competitions, including the Amazon Robotics Challenge 2017 and the World Robot Summit 2018. The full report is available on the official website of SmartCitiesWorld .

Abstract

"Robotics is one of the most rapidly advancing arms of automation technology making a difference to productivity, efficiency and safety in several different verticals. Reliable information on existing projects and pilots is key to the continued advance and application of these technologies. So, too, is already established software but in a competitive and corporate world, these are difficult to find. Enter Coarobo GK, a company that provides research consulting services for service robotics and artificial intelligence deployments. Its founders jointly realized the value of open-source information and software in this space after implementing a custom solution from scratch for their winning robotics solution at the Airbus Shopfloor Challenge 2016. Following the revealing of several later iterations of the solution at international robotics competitions such as the Amazon Robotics Challenge 2017 and the World Robot Summit 2018, the founders released their findings for companies and labs to use freely and began to offer consulting and information services to others in the space. Today, Coarobo GK creates and maintains containerized Software Development Environments that act as a deployment vehicle for robotics and AI researchers and developers to more rapidly take their solutions to market. Solutions that have been created in Coarobo GK's encapsulated container software environments have been deployed at robotics competitions worldwide and applied in various fields, from retail service robots to robotic arms in manufacturing."
