Coarobo GK contributed to the autonomous navigation system of the solution that won the Future Convenience Store Challenge (FCSC) at the 2020 METI/NEDO World Robot Summit (WRS 2020) . The competition, held in Aichi, Japan, brought together leading innovators to showcase state-of-the-art robotics technologies. Coarobo GK's expertise in autonomous navigation played a pivotal role in the success of Team NAIST-RITS-Panasonic (NaRiPa) , whose robotic solution secured 1st Place in this prestigious international competition.
At the request of Panasonic Corporation , Luis Yoichi Morales, Research Advisor for autonomous navigation at Coarobo GK, worked intensively over two days to optimize the team's navigation system. These enhancements strengthened the system's robustness, ensuring seamless deployment during the competition.
We are proud to have contributed to a solution that demonstrates the potential of robotics to transform industries.
The result reflects months of preparation by the wider NaRiPa team, with Coarobo GK's last-minute tuning helping the robot reliably handle the tight aisles, dynamic obstacles, and time-pressured tasks that define convenience store operations. The winning solution exemplifies the power of teamwork and technical excellence. Coarobo GK remains committed to supporting groundbreaking projects that push the boundaries of robotics.
