The Future of Life Signature Pavilion is one of eight signature pavilions at Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025, each produced by a distinguished individual invited by the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition. Conceived by Prof. Hiroshi Ishiguro, the pavilion invited visitors to encounter a range of advanced androids and robots, and to imagine life fifty years and a thousand years into the future. Sebastian Carrera was present at the pavilion throughout Expo 2025, working in close collaboration with ATR on the connectivity and control infrastructure underpinning the pavilion's cybernetic avatars.

Contributing to the remote control technology for cybernetic avatars at a World Expo was a genuinely rare and formative experience. Working with the team at ATR, I could see first-hand how cybernetic avatars operate at the intersection of research and public engagement, and that will shape how I approach every project going forward.

Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 welcomed visitors from around the world, with the Future of Life pavilion standing as one of its most distinctive venues for exploring the boundaries between humans, androids, and the future of life itself.
