Coarobo GK conducted a ROS 2 tutorial series with Panasonic Corporation, following up on its MoveIt tutorial series completed the previous year. The series enriched the prior format with structured lectures, expert panel discussions, hands-on cloud simulations, and video recordings licensed for unlimited redistribution within the company to foster a new generation of engineers. Topics ranged from ROS 2 node communication and simulation in Gazebo to Python-based robot programming.
The tutorial series comprised five online sessions over six weeks from May to June 2023 (one orientation and four tutorials), conducted within a containerized development environment built on Docker and Amazon Web Services (AWS), featuring GPU-accelerated Linux desktop instances accessed over noVNC. A dedicated discussion session on June 7, 2023 featured Kosei Demura, Yoshinobu Hagiwara, Yasuhiro Masutani, and Jeffrey T. C. Tan , co-authors of the 2022 Kodansha reference book "Introduction to AI Robots with ROS 2 and Python", who shared their expertise and fielded questions from participants directly.
We are delighted to have continued our collaboration with Panasonic through this ROS 2 tutorial series. By combining structured lectures, live expert panels, and hands-on cloud simulations, our aim was to give participants a solid grounding in ROS 2 that they can build on independently.
Coarobo GK remains committed to advancing robotics education and to supporting organizations in their adoption of modern open-source robotics frameworks.
